Alantan Plus in the form of an ointment is a preparation intended for local application to the skin. Its composition includes a combination of two active ingredients, allantoin and dexpanthenol. Alantan Plus ointment can be used in adults and children.

What is Alantan Plus ointment for? The indication for the use of Alantan Plus ointment is the treatment of minor wounds, cuts and abrasions of the skin. The medicinal product may also be helpful in the treatment of dermatitis or rhinitis. It is used in the case of allergic eczema, and can also be used in the case of sunburn. The drug can also be used to treat burns after radiotherapy or phototherapy, and is also used to care for the nipples of breastfeeding women. Alantan Plus ointment can be used to care for the diaper area of babies and prevent diaper rash, and it can also be used to care for dry and irritated skin. The ointment can also be used on excessively keratinized feet and hands.

The allantoin contained in Alantan Plus ointment has an astringent effect and also has anti-inflammatory properties. It also has a soothing effect and additionally supports the healing of wounds and stimulates granulation of the epidermis. Allantoin also has an exfoliating effect. The D-panthenol contained in Alantan Plus ointment is intended to penetrate deep areas of the skin, where it is transformed into pantothenic acid. In this form, it can already affect the water management of the skin, as well as the elasticity and firmness of the skin.

Indications and action:
The effect of Alantan Plus ointment is due to the presence of two ingredients: allantoin and D-panthenol.
Allantoin has anti-inflammatory, astringent, soothing, keratolytic properties and stimulates granulation of the epidermis. D-panthenol penetrates deep into the skin, where it is transformed into pantothenic acid. In this way, it is able to regulate the water balance of the skin, giving it firmness and elasticity.

Use:
Indications for use of Alantan Plus ointment:
treatment of various types of wounds, such as: abrasions, minor cuts and cracks, treatment of sunburn and after radiotherapy and phototherapy, nipple care during breastfeeding,
preventing diaper rash in infants,
care for irritated and dry skin,
excessive keratinization of the skin of the hands and feet,
supportive in atopic dermatitis, allergic eczema, rhinitis and leg ulcers,

The preparation is effective in combination therapy with corticosteroids in many inflammatory dermatoses.

Dosage:
Alantan Plus ointment should be used as described in the leaflet or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. It is recommended to consult a doctor before first use. Before applying the ointment, wash and gently dry the skin.
Affected areas should be lubricated several times a day. When caring for babies, use after each diaper change.

Contraindications:
Alantan Plus should not be used when:
you are allergic to allantoin, dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of the drug;
the ointment is applied to the eyes;
We are dealing with an acute inflammation of the skin that causes exudation.

Storage:
Alantan Plus ointment should be kept out of the sight and reach of children. The product should be stored in its original packaging at a temperature below 25°C. The preparation should be used within 6 months of first opening, without exceeding the expiry date stated on the packaging.
